Around the World in 60 Rums – Guyana

Each month we’ll explore a different rum producing country, sampling five rums from as many distilleries and/or indie bottlers as we can to get as broad a representation from each country as possible. We’ll include as many different styles as possible to highlight different production methods, age statements, cask types, price points, and (dare we say it) terriors to really get a feel for each national style.
This month we’ll feature Guyana! Known for full bodied and rich demerara blends and navy style rums, Guyana is home to some legendary stills (including the last remaining wooden pot and column stills! which are now housed in the sole distillery left in the country – Demerara Distillers. Despite only having a single site it produces a wide variety of styles, we’ll dig deep into the rums produced from the different stills they have.
Keep an eye on our Instagram for updates on what bottles we’ll feature.
