Around the World in 60 Rums – Scotland

Each month we’ll explore a different rum producing country, sampling five rums from as many distilleries and/or indie bottlers as we can to get as broad a representation from each country as possible. We’ll include as many different styles as possible to highlight different production methods, age statements, cask types, price points, and (dare we say it) terriors to really get a feel for each national style.
This month we’ll feature Scotland! While we don’t grow much sugar cane, we do have a rich history of booze making in Scotland, and rum is no exception. We’ll explore the past few hundred years of rum in Scotland and sample five drams made since the new wave of distilleries opened in 2015, including an exciting new bottling from one of our favourite distilleries. Important note – we will be focusing more on the straight, unflavoured rum produced in Scotland as opposed to spiced/botanical rums.
Keep an eye on our Instagram for updates on what bottles we’ll feature!
