History of the Sesh – Disco Disco Disco!

This month’s History of the Sesh will look at the history of disco drinks of the 70s and early 80s – think brightly coloured concoctions, Harvey Wallbangers and Blue Hawaiians!

We’ll start with a classic disco cocktail sample before you get involved by shaking a full sized drink while we set the scene for the disco era, from the music to the culture and the drinks of previous decades. We’ll then sample two other cocktails while we run through what defined the disco era – a period of sweet drinks often made with cheap ingredients such as sweet & sour mix. Don’t worry, each of your cocktails will be given a 2023 makeover with balanced flavours (i.e not super sweet!) and premium ingredients. We’ll then finish by shaking up your final cocktail as we talk about the lasting legacy of disco drinks, and how we’re seeing a modern revival!

During the 1.5-2 hour session you’ll receive five drinks:

• 2 full sized cocktails
• 3 1/2 sized cocktail samples

As usual, we’ll include a variety of different spirits in our drinks – if there’s anything you’re really not a fan of, let us know in advance so we can make adjustments!
