History of the Sesh – Gilded Age

Towards the end of the 19th century, and before the dark time of Prohibition, America saw a burst of post Civil War creativity and we saw an explosion of cocktails like the Manhattan, the Gin Fizz and the Daiquiri. We’ll start our exploration of the Gilded Age with a cocktail sample as we look at the drinking culture of the time and what caused this boom period in US history. We’ll then shake up your own Gilded Age drink then sample two more while we discuss the characters, world events and cultural milestones that gave rise to some classic cocktails we still enjoy today. We’ll finish with you making your final full sized drink as we see the lasting legacy of Gilded Age drinks.

During the 1.5-2 hour session you’ll receive five drinks:

• 2 full sized cocktails
• 3 1/2 sized cocktail samples

As usual, we’ll include a variety of different spirits in our drinks – if there’s anything you’re really not a fan of, let us know in advance so we can make adjustments!
