Gin Cruise

The perfect way to sample fantastic Scottish gin and delicious cocktails, while leisurely escaping Edinburgh on the Lochrin Belle canal boat. Cruises run March – October (the canal has a tendency to freeze over in the winter!)
Join us for a two hour trip along the Union Canal starting and ending at Fountainbridge, sampling four different gins from around the country while we talk you through the story and flavours of each. You’ll get to try each both as a neat sample to allow us to discuss and appreciate the differences between each, and as part of a tasty cocktail to show off the versatility of each spirit.
You’ll also have the knowledge and expertise of our experienced gin hosts and mixologists who will discuss interesting gin topics and answer any and all questions you may have.
We change the gin selection on our cruises every six months, so if you join us throughout the year you’ll try different gins!
An example flight of gins we might use:
- Seven Crofts – Ullapool
- Downpour – North Uist
- Lind & Lime – Edinburgh
- Porters Orchard – Aberdeen
For each cruise, we will serve each gin as part of a cocktail. An example menu might look like:
- Apple Southside (apple, lemon, mint)
- Pomegranate & Lychee Collins (pomegranate, lychee, lavender, lime)
- Spiced Pear Buck (pear, spices, vanilla, ginger ale)
- Mango & Apricot Gimlet (mango, apricot, lime)

Canapes are provided for us by local caterers, Xanders. Each guest will receive three canapes each and all dietary requirements can be catered for. All the money you pay for the food goes directly to Xanders to support local business – we do not take a cut!
If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please make us aware at time of booking – you will see a space to add this during checkout. You will also receive an email a week prior to the cruise with meeting info and a reminder to let us know about any requirements you have.
Food is pre-prepared and delivered to us in advance of each cruise so no substitutions are available on board. All relevant info must be provided at least 72 hours in advance.
