All About Agave

Join us for a Tequila tasting along with four other agave spirits! We may be very familiar with Tequila (too familiar?) and to a lesser extent, Mezcal, but what about Sotol, Raicilla or Bacanora?

All About Agave explores the growing trend for agave spirits and how diverse they can be. We’ll sip on a welcome drink and five agave samples while learning all about where they come from and how they differ from each other.

You’ll start by sipping on a welcome Tequila and mixer from our friends at Edinburgh’s Savora Drinks while we introduce the experience and what to expect.

Over the course of an hour we’ll talk you through each of the agave spirits on offer – Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol, Raicilla and Bacanora – what makes each unique, from the species of agave used, where they are made, and some of the fascinating ancestral methods often used.

We’ll also chat about agave’s origins and myths and the growing market for agave today.

While we often like to rotate the spirits we use, we have much more limited available in the UK for some of the lesser known agave spirits. While the Tequila and Mezcal may change, there’s more chance that the others will remain the same each month.
